Terms of Use
Last Updated: June 2026
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of Mirror, a private beta product operated by MQ, LLC. By using Mirror, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Mirror.
1. What Mirror Is
Mirror is a decision-logging and reasoning tool organized around projects. It lets users record issues, decisions, reasoning, expectations, check-in dates, outcomes, and learnings. Mirror may also generate AI-assisted reflections and abstracted decision memory from the user's own decision history.
Mirror is a beta product. Features, data structures, cross-device vault behavior, extension behavior, and MCP behavior may change.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Mirror. You are responsible for making sure your use of Mirror complies with applicable laws, contracts, employer policies, and professional obligations.
Legal rights and obligations related to data portability, workplace information, and professional records vary by jurisdiction. You are responsible for understanding and complying with the laws and rules that apply in your location and to your work context.
3. Your Content
You are responsible for all content you submit to Mirror. Do not submit confidential, proprietary, employer-restricted, regulated, medical, legal, financial-account, credential, or other highly sensitive information unless you are authorized and willing to accept the risk.
You are solely responsible for deciding what to log in Mirror. If you use Mirror for work-related decisions, you must comply with your employer's policies, confidentiality obligations, acceptable-use rules, data-handling rules, and any restrictions that apply to workplace information.
Mirror does not claim ownership of your decision content. You grant MQ, LLC a limited right to process your content solely to operate Mirror, provide cross-device vault access, provide reflections, maintain security, and support requested product functions.
4. Data and AI Usage
Mirror encrypts your private saved decision vault in your browser before saving it to Mirror's cloud vault. Mirror hosts the encrypted vault and stores metadata needed for cross-device access, projects, shared decision references, reminders, and account administration. Mirror does not store your vault key.
If you share a decision with a project team, consulted teammate, or another Mirror user, Mirror may store and show the enterprise-visible layer for that share: decision text, outcome text, dates, project/work-object references, and related metadata. Your reasoning, expectations, and learnings stay private to you unless you choose to disclose them outside Mirror.
When you use Decision Chat or Mirror shares a reflection with you, your live chat content or relevant decrypted vault content may be sent to a third-party AI model through a Mirror authentication proxy. The proxy validates your account and forwards the request to the model provider. The model provider receives the unencrypted content to generate the response. Mirror's proxy does not store the plaintext request content in Mirror's database, but the content is processed transiently while the response is generated.
We can't read it, and we don't opt-in to third-party AI training. OpenAI states that API inputs and outputs are not used to train models by default unless an organization explicitly opts in. Anthropic states that commercial product and API inputs and outputs are not used for model training by default. The selected provider may retain API inputs and outputs for abuse monitoring, legal compliance, or feature-specific storage according to its own policies. OpenAI may retain API inputs and outputs for up to 30 days by default for many API uses. Anthropic's standard commercial/API policy says API inputs and outputs are deleted within 30 days. Provider-specific exceptions may apply, including legal requirements, policy enforcement, longer-retention features, feedback submissions, or Zero Data Retention arrangements.
Mirror's hosted MCP server exposes ask_mirror, mirror_memory_summary, and mirror_privacy_boundary. These tools query abstracted decision memory and return generalized guidance only. They must not return raw decision history, raw reasoning, company facts, client names, deal amounts, confidential terms, learnings, or outcome records. If you make your agent available to another user, Mirror may log that user's query and the generalized response so you can see agent usage.
AI outputs may be wrong, incomplete, or inappropriate. Mirror is a decision-support tool, not an authority. You are responsible for your decisions and outcomes.
5. Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. If your password is reset without the old password or an exported backup, encrypted cloud vault decision content may not be recoverable.
We may suspend, wipe, or terminate access if we believe the account creates legal, security, privacy, abuse, or operational risk.
6. Beta Disclaimer
Mirror is provided in private beta. Bugs, downtime, cloud vault issues, data loss, browser-extension issues, model failures, and API changes are possible. Do not rely on Mirror as your sole system of record.
7. Intellectual Property
Mirror's software, design, branding, product concepts, and underlying technology are owned by MQ, LLC or its licensors. You may not copy, distribute, reverse engineer, scrape, or use Mirror to build a competing product without permission.
8. Prohibited Uses
- Illegal, harmful, abusive, deceptive, or exploitative activity
- Attempts to access another user's account or data
- Attempts to bypass encryption, authentication, rate limits, or security controls
- Submission of content you are not authorized to process
- Use of Mirror as a professional legal, financial, medical, HR, or compliance advisor
9. No Professional Advice
Mirror provides general decision support only. It does not provide legal, financial, medical, HR, compliance, tax, accounting, or professional consulting advice.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mirror is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE." MQ, LLC makes no warranties and is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, business impact, employment consequences, or decision outcomes. MQ, LLC's total liability will not exceed $100.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MQ, LLC from claims arising out of your use of Mirror, your content, your violation of these terms, or your violation of another party's rights or policies.

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of Mirror after changes means you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.
